With a 110-year history we have a wonderful collection of photos, artefacts and momentos from trips, tours and the evolution of the YAL. Our Museum has a number of unique item which can’t be seen anywhere else. Like US President Hoover’s inauguration wreath, which he presented to the YAL touring party who he invited to his inauguration in 1929. The Museum is open Wednesdays & Fridays from 10am till 2pm, but we are happy to accommodate groups by arrangement on any day. The YAL Museum isn’t just the history of our unique organisation but is also a journey through the coming of age of our great nation.

Visit our Gallery for images of some of the items we have on display. Our Curator Jan McCallum would be happy to hear from you if you would like some more information.

Scholarships

5J9A5024 (Large)

Launched in 2014, our scholarship program offers scholarships to students between the ages of 12-25 years old. The YAL recognised the need to assist young people who faced challenges to their educational pursuits due to financial obstacles. Unlike other scholarship programs the recipients can apply the funds where they have a need, this could be travel or accommodation costs, books, tuition, or living expenses such food or fuel. We feel this reflexes each individual students need and allows them to use the funds as they feel would most greatly assist them.

In 2015 we had 7 worthy recipients all with different needs and difficulties. Their stories can be followed through the scholarship journey.

This year’s scholarship application will open on the 1st August 2017 and close on 15th September 2017. To apply or for more information Click here.
